This was still really cute, and I seem to be warming up to Rin a little more, though she still isn't a favourite。 Things seem to be progressing a little as well between Ayumu and Urushi so hopefully we will continue to see that develop over the course of the next few volumes。 This was still really cute, and I seem to be warming up to Rin a little more, though she still isn't a favourite。 Things seem to be progressing a little as well between Ayumu and Urushi so hopefully we will continue to see that develop over the course of the next few volumes。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 cuuuuute。 I am liking Rin's character but hoping that she doesn't introduce too much tension between ayumu and urushi。 the photobooth scene was especially adorable。 cuuuuute。 I am liking Rin's character but hoping that she doesn't introduce too much tension between ayumu and urushi。 the photobooth scene was especially adorable。 。。。more
Mark,
Besides being the little bit of serotonin I need right now, I think this is an especially good volume of the series。 Now that Rin’s been introduced, she slots neatly into things by providing somebody else for our leads to bounce off of。Making her a food monster is a bit of a cliché, but it fits well with her personality and gets some choice laughs a couple of times (the comedic timing of one other character searching for manju is spot on)。 She might have a crush on Ayumu, but she pretty clearly Besides being the little bit of serotonin I need right now, I think this is an especially good volume of the series。 Now that Rin’s been introduced, she slots neatly into things by providing somebody else for our leads to bounce off of。Making her a food monster is a bit of a cliché, but it fits well with her personality and gets some choice laughs a couple of times (the comedic timing of one other character searching for manju is spot on)。 She might have a crush on Ayumu, but she pretty clearly recognizes her status as the No Chance Rival, which is a nice change of pace。Speaking of, our favourite five-yen hypnotist and her would-be suitor continue to dance the doki doki and that’s a lot of fun just based on how different it is from the other hopeless clowns in the series。The best chapter is a little meta bit of business where Urushi realizes that everybody else’s names have connections to shogi pieces and she and Rin go down a very ridiculous rabbit hole with some unexpected shipping along the way。Otherwise it is smushing together as usual, but it just feels a little more buoyant than it typically comes across。 There’s the most cliché locker scene imaginable, but it gets deftly escalated to be even worse thanks to somebody having good ears and no common sense。Even if it still treads the same water as usual, it was just that extra bit warmer this time and I can genuinely appreciate that。 。。。more
